The criteria are taken from the EBRD website. If the answer to all five is “yes”, it is worth contacting the EBRD office in Kazakhstan.

How it works

Five steps: from application to reimbursement

There are three parties to the project: your company, the consultant and the EBRD. The main rule is contract first, work second.

What you need to apply

The EBRD office will give you the exact list. Usually the company’s documents and a clear project description are enough, and we will prepare the description.

From the company

an application on the EBRD form;
founding documents;
financial statements for the last two years.

From us

a description of the task and expected results;
project stages, timeline and cost estimate;
closing documents for each stage.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much will the EBRD reimburse?

The EBRD pays part of the net cost of the project; taxes are paid by the company. The EBRD states the share and the limit when it approves the project.

Can work start before the contract is signed?

Better not. The programme co-finances a project agreed in advance, so work starts after the contract with the EBRD is signed.

Do we have to pay the full amount first?

Usually the company pays the consultant for the work, and the EBRD reimburses its share after the project is completed. The payment procedure is set out in the contract.

How long does a project take?

According to the programme description, usually four to six months. We fix the stage deadlines in the contract.

Which projects qualify?

Business development advice: strategy, digitalisation, marketing, operations, quality, finance. A website, CRM and automation count as digitalisation and marketing. The EBRD makes the decision on the project.

Who is the programme not for?

Large businesses with a turnover above €50 million, companies less than two years old and companies involved in military products, tobacco or gambling.
